How NutriShield helps promote autophagy to clear senescent cells
Senescent cells are now known to be a key cause of ageing. Here’s how.
An estimated 50 billion cells a day die and are replaced. The dead cells are normally cleared away by the immune system through a vital process called autophagy – literally meaning self-eating.
But occasionally these dead cells – or their debris - are not completely cleared away. They become senescent cells. And their number increases over time – linked to the weakening of the immune system.
These senescent cells - (sometimes called zombie cells) – exude toxins that cause inflammation and damage in the tissues around them. And this inflammation is a major cause of ageing and age-related diseases.
Fortunately, certain compounds – called senolytics – can activate autophagy and help clear these zombie cells.
They include nicotinamide, EGCG (the active ingredient in green tea) – Omega 3, curcumin, genistein (a compound in soy isoflavones) and several phyto-nutrients found in grapeseed extract and strawberries.
